Surfability solutions: KhronoMetaTM
The KhronoMetaTM, which builds upon our core NaviGauge product, was originally developed to analyse the usage of the DTI website and determine both when and which different sub-sections of the site were being used by members of the public.
KhronoMeta - "It's about time"
Unlike other web analytics tools, KhronoMeta enables webmasters to find those pages on a website that have not been accessed in a particular period of time. It also enables the relative popularities of particular sub-sections to be compared.
What does it do?
Customisable reports can be generated via a web browser interface, which enables the user to:
- select different time periods for analysis;
- list pages accessed internally within the selected time period;
- list pages NOT accessed internally within the selected time period;
- list pages accessed externally within the selected time period;
- list pages NOT accessed externally within the selected time period; and
- include only specific paths - i.e. particular sections of the website.
The value of KhronoMeta
Redesigning a large and complex website almost certainly involves the 'pruning' of under-used sub-sections of the site. KhronoMeta provides webmasters with an objective way of finding "hot" and "cold" spots in a website or intranet.
The KhronoMeta can also be used to compare 'semantic sitemaps' - i.e. ideal visions of a website's taxonomy and hierarchy gleaned from stakeholder consultations - with actual usage patterns found on the site.
